MOD Col Samuel Ozoemena, the chairman of the Central Planning committee of the Uyo, 2026 National Security Summit has dedicated the success of the epochal event to the National Executive council, Chaplains, Patrons, and Regulars. He made this revelation to the press during an interview by this weekend.

Reacting to his feelings he said: “My experience serving MOD Nigeria at this time as the Central Planning Committee Chairman of the  national security summit has been one of great interest recognizing the responsibility involved with such planning but I am Blessed to have had good support of the National Executive Council, Chaplains, Patrons, understanding of Commanders,  Regulars and Members of the committee who were very active towards ensuring that we had a good outing at our First National Security Summit. I wish to sincerely appreciate everyone sincerely on behalf of the central planning committee,” he expressed.

Talking about the challenges encountered the ever vibrant Col  stated that It was challenging due to the fact that the committee planned from a distance but he thank God for the all together success recorded while appreciating the participants at all levels for contributing their quota towards the success achieved at the maiden event of the national security summit.

“The Coordination of the National Executive Council and the members were top notch though not without some expected inactivity on the part of some members but on the over all I enjoyed the full support of NEC and the committee members. We appreciate his Excellency the President and his team for the confidence reposed in us to plan and execute this First National Security Summit while thanking my Secretary and entire team for their cooperation as we achieved the needed success despite some unforeseen mishaps which we urge God almighty to grant us his blessings and the faithful departed eternal rest, Amen” he prayed.

As the Chairman of the planning committee, he noted that the Church has strong role to play owing to the fact that MOD Nigeria is a faith based organization and receives it’s directives from the Catholic Church.

“As the theme succinctly captured MOD Nigeria, The Army of The Cross, MOD is at the service of the church to carry out security services and to ensure that our places of worship, the Blessed Eucharist and the properties of the church is well cared for by the members of MOD Nigeria. Hence, we expect the Church to strongly support all MOD activities aimed at putting good security around our churches and locations so we can fully fulfil our potentials as a security outfit while following our spiritual commitments as members” he opined.

Furthermore, he assured that the summit’s official communique will be communicated to the church leadership and the media in due course noting that they expect the full implementation of all resolutions by all participating Commands which primarily is to organize similar seminars to the rest of their commands since the attendance of the National summit was based on representation so as to ensure a holistic approach to our security strategy and full implementation of agreed resolutions.

To all Officers and Men, he charged them to be up and doing as the security of our places of worship is a duty we can not relinquish to anyone else, therefore everyone is encouraged to live out the trainings acquired during the Summit so that the gains of the summit can be fully achieved and beneficial to the church as expected.
