…FMMC Members pay last respects to the departed

Even though the fountains of water opened up on Saturday 15th June, 2025, it still couldn’t stop the burial ceremony of frontline journalist and publisher of the Continent Newspaper, Prince Biyi Osijo.
The event took place as scheduled at his residence in Oke Ore, a small town, near Idiroko in Ogun State.
The burial ceremony was conducted by the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Oke Ore leb by Venerable Superior Evangelist Benjamin.
Scores of family, friends and colleagues still found their way to the solemn assembly to pay their last respects to the departed.
After a brief lying in State, the body of late Biyi Osijo was taken to the graveside for final ministration and thereafter it was lowered into the grave.
Prophet Gbenga Josi of the CCC admonished the wife and children of late Biyi Osijo to take heart and depend solely on God for their comfort and sustenance.
He urged them to keep an abiding faith in God Almighty who is the resurrection and the life, noting that on the last day, the family will reunite with their loved ones who were taken away by death.
The prophet pleaded with those who may be indebted to the deceased one way or another to do the needful and return such indebtedness to the family as a form of personal restitution.
He argued that failure to do so could invite the wrath of God.
Members of the Federated Maritime Media Chapel (FMMC) were fully represented at the funeral.
Biyi Osijo was an astute investigative journalist who practiced his craft for about 40 years. He was a jolly good fellow who made friends across all media strata and kept his friends.
He first published African Maritime, a bilingual magazine, in the late 90s and later set up the Continent Newspaper.
Biyi Osijo hailed from Ijebu Ode in Ogun State. He was married and God blessed him with seven children, two boys and five girls and grandchildren.
