Face of Maritime International (FOMI) has joined other maritime stakeholders to congratulate and celebrate a dynamic women leader, Hajia Bola Muse who celebrated her birthday recently in Lagos.
In a congratulatory message sent to Hajia Bola Muse, the Director of FOMI, Mr Sylva Obasi described the foremost female freight forwarder as an epitome of beauty and a woman of high standing in the maritime sector.
According to Obasi, “Hajia Bola Muse is a maritime amazon, a role model and a women leader whose passion for women empowerment and gender advocacy cannot be over emphasized.
“It is her love for women empowerement that endeared her to Face Of Maritime International and I dare say that she has been very instrumental to the success of FOMI right from the early stage even before becoming one of our Trustees.
“To all past and present FOMI queens, Hajia Bola Muse is a mentor and a role model; to FOMI management, she is a pillar of support and encouragement any time, any day”, Obasi stated, adding that FOMI cannot but celebrate her on a special day like this”.
Obasi further hinted that with a professional track record spanning over 30 years, Hajia Muse chairs Bomarah Group of companies and has established herself as a major player in Nigeria’s maritime industry, with deep interests in cargo handling, haulage, aviation, customs brokerage, freight forwarding and tourism.
Aside playing active leadership roles in the various professional associations she belongs to, Hajia Muse has carved a formidable legacy as an advocate for women’s participation in the maritime sector. She served as President of Women in Maritime Africa (WIMA), Nigeria Chapter, as well as Women Leader in the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, (ANLCA), roles that positioned her as a voice for gender inclusion in an industry where, by global statistics, women remain severely underrepresented.
Her philanthropic endeavours have been equally remarkable. Through the Bomarah Foundation, Hajia Muse has used her birthday as an annual platform for community empowerment, with past celebrations featuring vocational training programmes and the distribution of working tools to persons with disabilities, widows and the less privileged, drawing high-profile government officials and civil society leaders to bear witness to her commitment to social welfare.
In his birthday tribute, the FOMI Director prayed God to continue to bless, protect and lead Bola Muse in all her endeavours, especially as she continues to touch lives positively through the philanthropic gestures of her NGO, Bomarah Foundation.
