The National President of Man of Order and Discipline Movement of Nigeria, MOD Gen Sir Amb Matthew Onyemauwa Nwaeze (CKSMA), has presented an outstanding stewardship of his administration at the 1st National MOD Security Summit at Cardinal Ekandem Seminary, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State while presenting his welcome address yesterday being 20th, August, 2026.
According to General Nwaeze as a matter of Legal Status, his administration has increased the MOD capital share to 100 Million Ordinary Shares to enable nationwide operations.
On Government Compliance, he informed that MOD licensing process with the NSCOC is well at an advanced stage. And he further revealed that the successes enumerated so far has been achieved via Self-Funding. In his words:
“Our progress to this point has been made possible solely through the contributions of our members for which we are very grateful to men and officers for their generosity.”
In another development, he reaffirmed the MOD mandate to protect Church properties, schools, hospitals, seminaries, parishes, worshippers, and to partner with the government and all security agencies in safeguarding lives and sacred spaces. He submitted that the security architecture of our nation must extend to our places of worship, and noted that community policing must include Church institutions.
However, he respectfully appealed to CBCN, CSN, Church authorities, and Government for support for the employment of qualified MOD members in parishes, schools, and hospitals. He equally noted that after professional training, MOD Security personnel require operational equipment to function effectively.
“The time has come for the Church and Nation to invest strategically in security Infrastructure to protect faith, life, and property”.
Going forward, he said, “Distinguished Guests, Mod Nigeria is 43 Years Old. By 2033, We Shall Celebrate Our Golden Jubilee – 50 Years of Service to God and Humanity. In pursuit of this, we are working to acquire land for Man of Order and Discipline Academy and Late Very Rev. Msgr. O.P. Achebe Memorial Center – to serve as our National Headquarters, Acquisition and Training Center. By the grace of God, before our Golden Jubilee in 2033, MOD Nigeria will have a permanent site where we can train our personnel in modern security, Intelligence, and disaster management, and serve the Church better. We humbly request the support and assistance of the Government, the Church, and all men and women of goodwill to make this legacy project a reality.”
The national President used the opportunity to charge the officers and men of MOD ahead of 2027 national elections saying: “No MOD uniform, ID, or property in any polling unit. Go and vote. Make your vote count. Do not use violence. Vote with your conscience. Look at the CONTENT, not the BOTTLE. I encourage you to conduct yourselves during the general elections as you exercise your civic right towards electing credible and God-fearing leaders for our nation.”
It is germane to note that, his welcome address paid solemn homage to His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso, the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna and President, Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria, CBCN, His Lordship, Most Rev. John Ebebe Ayah Chief Host, Bishop of Uyo Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe, C.M.F – Keynote Speaker, Bishop of Makurdi and Bishop Chairman for Laity, CBCN, His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Valerian Maduka Okeke Grand Patron, MOD Nigeria, the distinguished Guest of Honour His Excellency, Pastor Umoh Bassey Eno, PhD. the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi – Former Governor of Anambra State and Presidential Aspirant, Distinguished Senators, Honourable Members of the National Assembly Distinguished Representatives of Government and Security Agencies, Distinguished Diplomats, Traditional Fathers and Leaders, Legal Luminaries, Our Esteemed Patrons, Officers and Benefactors, Officers of the Nigerian Army, DSS, Nigeria Police Force, NSCDC, and all Security Agencies, Stakeholders, members of the press, Ladies and Gentlemen etc
Finally, he revealed that the choice of Uyo for this National Summit was quite Strategic as MOD in Uyo has continued to show strong commitment with strong support from the environment created by the government and the hospitality nature of the good Bishop and Church Leadership in Uyo and in recognition of the beautiful people of Akwa Ibom State.
General Nwaeze expressed profound appreciation to the Chaplains led by the Chaplain General Very Rev. Fr. MOD General Celestine Aniofor, the Religious, all the invited Speakers, Resource Persons, and Panelists, the National Planning Committee and Local Organizing Committee, etc
At a point in his address, the National President informed the audience that this Summit is convened out of pain, prayer, and purpose.
” In January 2025, at the Benue-Enugu boundary, my men and I were harassed simply because of this uniform and because MOD was not yet duly registered. And at this time, our nation is bleeding; priests are being slaughtered, seminarians are being murdered, worshippers are being massacred in their places of worship. Churches, schools, and hospitals are no longer safe.”
“We in MOD have also paid this price. At St. Theresa Catholic Church, Madalla, Minna Diocese, and in Abakaliki Diocese, we lost gallant members while on duty. May their souls continue to rest in perfect peace, Amen.”
