MOD Lieutenant Colonel Gabriel Amah, the Lagos state MOD Commander has extended kudos to the National executive council over the initiative of National Security Summit held at Uyo AkwaIbom state especially at this momentous epoch when security challenges surround the Church and the country at large.
According to Mod Lt Col Amah, as members of MOD, it is not enviable to say that we cannot protect our own. “So, it is a great proactive initiative by the National Executive Council to call for this summit involving all dioceses and all councils of MOD, to come together to learn and to take the same message back to the grassroots, councils and the divisions so that going forward, we have well-structured information regarding security matters and how to apply it to our grassroots divisions” he said.
Reacting to the collaborative efforts of other security agencies so far towards this national security summit, he said,  “So far, so good. The MOD has been collaborating with the police, the Army and few other security agencies like Lagos and Akure dioceses and others I know. We hope that this summit will take us further with every other security agency, not collaboration that will just stop at just drills”.
Giving words of inspiration to all MOD members after the National Security Summit, he changed them to see it as a new era for MOD.
“From what we have learned so far, i encourage everyone of us to stay vigilant, stay alert, stay disciplined, orderly and be security-conscious, When you see something, you say something. Do not just keep quiet, because security is everyone’s business.”
Applauding the efforts of the National Executive Council, so far, MOD Lieutenant Colonel Gabriel Amah noted thus,: “For the National Executive Council, they’ve been doing wonderfully well in all ramifications trying to see that the MOD comes up in matters of security within the Church and our environments. You see Chaplain Council getting more deeply involved in MOD and our patrons pouring their financial and moral supports in all situations. I equally wish to commend the planning committee under the chairmanship of Col Ozoemena that took their time to plan and execute this national security Summit, kudos to our dear priests that are always praying for us and remembering us at Masses,” he concluded.
